PROCESS
Grants are awarded by the Foundation after review and approval by the Board of Managers. Applications for grants should be submitted by the Dean or the interested Department Head or Chair at the applying medical school. Applications by individual professors, without the support of the Dean or the Department Head or Chair, are strongly discouraged. Applications from Offices of Development are also accepted.
SUBMISSION
Each application should contain:
(1) a detailed description of the program or project for which funding is sought, including the total cost of the program or project, the identity of other funding sources, and the specific amount of money requested from the Foundation,
(2) the name(s) of the faculty member(s) responsible the implementation of the program or project and a summary of his or her credentials,
(3) an itemized budget showing how grant monies will be spent, and including monies received from other sources of funding, (4) a description of the plan to evaluate the success of the program or project, and
(5) a statement as to how the grant monies, if awarded, will benefit “medical education” in the Philadelphia region.
